Captain John Frankman Announces Candidacy for Congress in Florida’s 1st District

NORTHWEST FLORIDA—Captain John Frankman, a Special Forces Green Beret and proud advocate for Northwest Florida’s values, today announced his candidacy for Congress to replace Representative Matt Gaetz in Florida’s 1st Congressional District. With a slim Republican majority in the U.S. House, Captain Frankman is determined to ensure Northwest Florida continues to send a strong, America First fighter to Washington, D.C.

“Northwest Florida deserves a leader who will unapologetically stand up for our conservative values and keep our voice front and center in Congress,” said Frankman. “I was proud to serve my country in the Special Forces, and I am ready to serve again in Washington. I’ll work tirelessly to defend our freedoms, support President Trump’s agenda, and put Americans First.”

John Frankman served eight years in the U.S. Army as a Captain with the 7th Special Forces. His military career ended in 2023 when he stood against the COVID-19 vaccine mandate, a decision he calls his proudest moment in uniform.

“Taking that stand reinforced my commitment to fight for Americans’ rights and freedoms,” said Frankman.

Since leaving the Army, Frankman has championed service members impacted by the mandate and advocated for unity and renewal in America, driven by his faith and dedication to serving his community.

“The American people have spoken and overwhelmingly re-elected President Trump to lead our nation forward. Now, more than ever, he needs a fighter in Washington to stand with him, advance his agenda, and ensure the will of the people is carried out,” said Frankman. “With the Republican majority hanging in the balance, it’s essential we send someone who will fight every day to advance conservative principles and hold Washington accountable.
